1. Camera and Microphone Usage
VisionSpeak AI is an accessibility tool designed specifically for visually impaired users. To provide our core functionality, the app strictly requires access to:
- Camera: Used in real-time to analyze your surroundings, read text, and detect obstacles.
- Microphone: Used to receive voice commands and facilitate hands-free navigation.
Crucial Security Note: We do not secretly record, save, or sell your audio or camera feeds to third parties. Image frames are processed temporarily via Google's Generative AI servers strictly to generate the requested audio descriptions, after which they are instantly discarded. Offline obstacle detection processes camera frames entirely locally on your device.
2. Data Collection & Cloud Sync
To provide a seamless experience and synchronize your premium features, we collect minimal data via Google Firebase:
- Account Data: If you sign in, we securely store your Google Account ID, Name, and Email address using Google's official Firebase Authentication.
- Usage Analytics: We store basic usage metrics (such as your daily scan limits and total lifetime scans used) in Firebase Cloud Firestore to ensure your earned scans are backed up and synced across your devices.
3. Third-Party Services (Advertisements)
We use Google AdMob to display rewarded video advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers, location data, and other standard analytics to serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your device's Android privacy settings. By using the app, you agree to Google's Advertising Privacy Policies.
4. Data Deletion & Your Rights
You have the absolute right to request the deletion of your account and associated usage data at any time. To request data deletion, simply email our support team at the address below with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will manually delete your user record and wallet data from our Firebase database within 14 days.
